Our Groups, Workshops and Training Days

Groups & Workshops

Our support groups are aimed at  people who find themselves in a position where they are unable to cope,  feel isolated, or have a general sense of unhappiness. This could be linked to events such as illness, divorce, childhood trauma, addiction or the loss of a loved one. There could also be a general sense of unease, unhappiness, anxiety or mental health issues without any obvious root. Whatever your reason for seeking a support group, our team of therapists who facilitate these groups, are here to help.

Our workshops are aimed at people who want to learn more about a particular subject. These workshops are for both professionals and people interested in expanding their knowledge.

Current Groups

We have many specialised groups which focus on a specific area. We also have a general group that anyone can join. Most groups are completely free.

Bereavement Support

We understand the pain of losing a loved one and coping with grief can be a personal and unpredictable experience. This group is for anyone who is finding their loss difficult and aims to bring people together for mutual support. It is a space where individuals can speak informally about their bereavement, offer peer support, share memories, and experiences (whether happy or difficult), and get advice from others in a similar position.

Eating Disorders Support

Eating disorders can affect anyone - any gender, and any age. It can be lonely and isolating to deal with your thoughts, emotions and body image. Sometimes it’s hard to talk to anyone about it and even harder to admit it. You might even feel out of control and helpless. You are not alone; we understand and we are here.

Emotional Support & Wellbeing

We all need emotional support from others but at times it can feel as if there is no one to turn to. We may have well-meaning family, friends and neighbours who want to give us their advice when we are going through a difficult time. However, we may feel like we need a professional's opinion. Whether you are going through a break-up, have lost a loved one, are feeling depressed, anxious, stressed or alone our group may offer you the support you need.

Menopause Support

Women’s experiences of menopause and how they manage those experiences can be as unique as the women themselves. Menopause typically occurs between the ages of 49 and 52 but some women go through early menopause, either due to medical reasons or genetic factors. It can be a difficult and confusing time. Our group offers support and psychoeducation.

Men's Recovery Group

Sex or porn addiction can leave you feeling very alone, isolated, ashamed and feeling as if you are not ‘normal’. Accessing the right support can allow you to work through some of these difficult feelings with other people who understand your struggle.

Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness is a curious term as it is actually not about being mind-full at all. It is about being fully present, being aware of the present moment, and knowing that you are in the moment. It is acknowledging without judgment. what is happening in the moment, both around you and within your own mind. This 8-week programme will teach you the skills to implement mindfulness into your daily life.

Partners of Sex Addicts

Finding out that someone you love, and trust has betrayed you may shatter your world. It can be difficult to know who to turn to when the subject matter is so personal, plus you might feel high levels of embarrassment and shame. Our group is a safe space to work through how you feel without judgement.

Peer Supervision

A group where counsellors and psychotherapists can engage with qualified supervisors, utilising their knowledge and professional experience.

The Relationship Clinic

It’s not uncommon to experience difficulties in relationships. Sometimes, all we want is to be listened to, heard and maybe learn how to think outside the box.
