At the Cherry Tree Therapy Centre, we offer counselling placements in Buckhurst Hill for trainee counsellors and counselling psychologists who are looking to gain real-world clinical experience in a warm and inclusive environment.
Whether you're in the final stages of your training or just starting your placement journey, we aim to offer high-quality opportunities where you can grow your confidence, skills, and client work, all with robust supervision and support.
We offer placements to students from recognised training providers who are ready to work with adult clients. You'll need to have insurance, be a member of the BACP (or equivalent), and have a 'fitness to practice' letter from your college or university.

Placements are offered throughout the year depending on client demand and team capacity. We recommend signing up for the newsletter to hear first.
Yes. We offer monthly group supervision as part of the placement. We also offer 1:1 and small supervision groups.
Yes. Shortlisted applicants are invited for a Zoom interview where we discuss your course, goals, availability, and whether we’re a good fit for each other.
Our placements focus on individual adult clients. Additional client groups may be available depending on your training and experience.
We welcome students who are pre-client work, but you must be ready to begin client work shortly after placement starts.
