Joanna Fleck

Student Counsellor

About Me

Joanna Fleck is a trainee Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist at the Cherry Tree Therapy Centre in Buckhurst Hill, Essex.

She is working towards her PGDip in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of East London, and is a Student Member of the BACP.

As an Integrative Therapist, Joanna draws on a variety of theories and tools in her work. At the core, is her belief in the client being the expert in their own experience, with the therapist walking alongside you on your journey.

She also draws on her long term meditation practice and experience as a mindfulness teacher and facilitator of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy within her work.

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is an approach that combines mindfulness meditation and cognitive therapy. It helps people become more aware of their thoughts and feelings in a non-judgmental way. By practicing mindfulness, individuals can better understand and manage their emotions and reduce stress. MBCT teaches skills to observe thoughts and redirect attention to the present moment, promoting a sense of calm and self-compassion. It’s a helpful approach for improving overall well-being and mental health.

Alongside her training as a therapist, Joanna runs a small social enterprise that provides reflective practice for lawyers, drawing on her years of experience working as a legal aid lawyer.

Joanna Fleck is available for face-to-face sessions on Mondays. If you would like to work with Joanna, please get in contact for an assessment.
