General Therapy Questions

The terms are often used interchangeably. Both involve talking with a trained professional to explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviour. Psychotherapy may go deeper into long-standing patterns, while counselling often focuses on current issues.

If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or in need of support, counselling and psychotherapy can help. It provides a confidential space to talk things through and gain new perspectives.

We work with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, low self-esteem, and stress, in fact, far too many to list here. If you’re unsure whether we’re the right fit, feel free to get in touch for an informal chat.

Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. There are a few legal exceptions (such as risk of serious harm), which your therapist will explain clearly in your first session.

Practicalities & Booking

Fees vary depending on the therapist and the type of service. We aim to offer affordable options, including low-cost counselling and free support groups. Contact us to discuss what’s available.

Your first session is a chance to get to know your therapist, talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, and see if it feels like a good fit.

Each therapist sets their own cancellation policy, usually requiring 24–48 hours' notice. This will be explained at the start of your work together.

You can contact us using our website form, email, or phone. We'll help you find the right therapist or support group for your needs.

Support Groups

Support groups are small, confidential gatherings of people with shared experiences, led by a professional facilitator. They offer connection, reflection, and mutual support.

We currently offer groups for emotional wellbeing, bereavement, sex and porn addiction recovery (for both addicts and partners), and counselling supervision. See our Support Groups page for details.

Yes. Just like individual therapy, confidentiality is a key part of group safety. All members agree to respect each other's privacy.

No. You can share at your own pace. Many people start by listening and feel more comfortable contributing over time.

Each group is either online or in person, not both. We'll let you know the format when you enquire.
