How we Can help

Individual Low Cost Counselling

Access to free counselling on the NHS is limited with the waiting list at an all-time high right now.

You may be eligible to access our low-cost counselling service if you are over the age of 18.

Low-cost counselling sessions are similar to full-paying sessions.  Each session follows the exact same format and we do not cap the number of sessions. We understand that not all issues can be worked out in a short amount of time.

Sessions are usually carried out by a trainee in the final year of their Post-Graduate counselling training. Each counsellor will be a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy) or equivalent.

Our Low Cost Counsellors

Each counsellor undergoes monthly clinical supervision and agrees to adhere to the BACP ethical framework. They will also be fully insured for their therapeutic work. Each counsellor brings with them years of work experience including working with grief and loss, children, young people, special needs and corporate coaching.

Our low-cost counselling service fills up very quickly, so we have a waiting list for when spaces are full.

If you wish to be considered for this service please get in touch where we will talk to you about your requirements.

How it works

free counselling

Once you have made the decision to have low-cost counselling, the senior clinical team will send you an assessment form. This online password-secure form will need to be filled out with as much detail as possible. We will also ask for your availability and ask whether you would prefer face to face, online or telephone sessions.

When this form is completed and sent back to the clinical team, we will assess and match you to a therapist that best suits your needs.

Your therapist will contact you to book you in for a session. During the first session, you will be asked what you want to achieve from counselling.  You will also explore your goals and talk about your current thoughts and feelings.

The amount of sessions needed varies for different people, some may receive 6 sessions, whereas others may want more counselling sessions over a longer period of time. We do not cap the number of sessions as we understand that not all issues can be worked out in a short amount of time.

If you are struggling financially at any point and would like to enquire about our free counselling spaces, please speak to your counsellor.

Your sessions may naturally come to an end as your life progresses and your goals are met. When this occurs you will have a closing session. During your final session, the therapist will discuss with you your progress, thoughts, and feelings. At this stage, the therapist can provide you with techniques and tasks you can use to help sustain the progress you have made in sessions.
