About Me

Maureen Dixon is a Student Counsellor at Cherry Tree Therapy Centres in Buckhurst Hill.

Her early career was as an Academic Psychologist, but she subsequently re-trained to be a Career Coach and is now studying to become a qualified Counsellor at the University of East London.

Maureen believes that the relationship between client and counsellor is fundamental in helping you to move forward so it’s really important that you feel that you have the right therapist for you.

She offers a calm, warm, non-judgmental space for us to explore what’s going on for you.

Deciding to start counselling can be a difficult decision and it’s important to know that the work we do together will be led by you and your needs. Each client is unique and that uniqueness lies at the heart of how you decide to work together.

Maureen can integrate different counselling approaches or coaching techniques depending on what seems suitable and whether you’d like to focus on the future or whether you need to look at what thoughts and behaviours may have come from your past. You will work collaboratively to help navigate difficult feelings and situations with compassion as well as recognise your strengths and accomplishments.
