Integrative Counsellor and Coach

About Me

Mo Dixon is an Integrative Counsellor and Coach at the Cherry Tree Therapy Centre in Buckhurst Hill. Being dual-trained allows flexibility to integrate and adapt elements of counselling and coaching suited to what you need to achieve.

Counselling can offer a pause in your life where you can take a breath and focus on you. Understanding some of the unconscious processes that may have developed in our early life and how they continue to impact our current life choices can be a fascinating process, but it can also feel a little unsettling too. We will navigate this journey with compassion and humanity and help you to view your own life story with kindness We will also focus on your strengths and resources and help you to think creatively about your future and what you would like it to be. I can integrate coaching techniques when needed to help you implement and support the new changes in your life. It’s important to know that the pace and content of the work we do together will be led by you. Each client is unique and that uniqueness lies at the heart of how we decide to work together

It is crucial for the therapeutic journey that we can create a strong therapeutic bond. My style of working is calm, non-judgmental, interactive and focused.  I like to connect to others with warmth, compassion and humour. I have a background as an academic psychologist and will help you develop your own inner counsellor/ coach through sharing psychological theory. I offer a 20-minute phone or video call to talk about what you’re looking for and what approaches might work for you. This can help us decide if we are the right fit for each other.

I have experience of working with people with issues like:

  • Anxiety, panic and stress
  • Low self esteem
  • Life transitions (e.g. motherhood, redundancy, menopause, divorce/separation)
  • Dealing with anger
  • Bereavement, grief and loss
  • Discovering and celebrating strengths
  • Communication issues
  • Helping you find purpose and meaning

We can decide to work together for a specific number of sessions or in a more open-ended way depending on your needs and preferences.
