Clare Hawes

Therapeutic Counsellor

About me

Clare Hawes is a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor at Cherry Tree Therapy Centre. In addition to face to face therapy, Clare also offers online and telephone counselling.

The central therapeutic approach in which Clare works is person-centred – essentially providing her clients a safe confidential space in which they can express their concerns, with the understanding that they will not be judged. All that the client brings is received with respect, empathy, and compassion. It is in this unique relationship that it is possible to explore challenging issues holding individuals back from living their life as fully, and as happily as possible. Clare believes that humans have a sense of what is right for them, and it is with this in mind that she will not attempt to direct or offer advice. By sharing your feelings, thoughts and experiences it may be possible to uncover alternative ways of being in the world – potentially leading to a greater sense of contentment.

Clare works one to one with adults and young people – consistently taking part in professional training to enhance her skills working with a range of issues. Importantly, Clare has a current Enhanced DBS Certificate.

Clients that Clare has experience of working with have presented with a number of issues, including:

  • Childhood trauma
  • Loss
