Sarah-Jane Eisen
Movement Psychotherapist
In day-to-day life, it can be challenging to take time to connect and reflect. Underpinned by psychodynamic psychotherapy, Movement Psychotherapy is a holistic, creative, and embodied therapy that recognises how body movement is essential to communication and expression.
As a trauma-informed therapist, I hold a safe and compassionate space to reflect on life’s difficulties and find deeper understanding through talking and movement, whichever you are comfortable with, with the option of using props, music, and/or art materials during therapy.
With an intersectional perspective, I can help anyone seeking therapy who might be experiencing anxiety and stress, and help enhance self-esteem and support personal development.
I can guide you through the exploration of thought processes, where sometimes it may be difficult to put feelings into words. Helping you to communicate, reduce tension, increase energy, and enjoy self-expression and creativity in a supported environment. Honouring the interconnectedness of body and mind and offering grounding in the physical, sensory, emotional, and social sense, and increased wellbeing.
My experience involves working in primary schools, a Community Interest Charity for women, in forensic services with CAMHS, and in an acute mental health setting in the NHS.
I have foundations in Jungian Psychology and hold an MA in Dance Movement Psychotherapy. As a registered therapist, I have a professional membership with the Association of Dance Movement Psychotherapy UK (ADMP UK). I am currently continuing my professional development, working towards full clinical membership with UKCP.
