Samantha Falconer
Sex and Relationship Therapist
After many years in the media, Samantha Falconer retrained as a sex and relationship therapist due to her own struggle finding a sex-positive therapist experienced with “non-normative” relationships. She often felt judged and shamed, which led her to become the therapist she needed—one who offers acceptance and understanding without making clients feel broken for not fitting into “normal” standards.
As a ‘fairness fanatic,’ Samantha provides a safe, educated space for Global Majority, LGBTQIA+, and sex worker clients, as well as anyone else seeking support. She uses a pluralistic approach, tailoring therapy to each client’s needs. This might involve setting exercises, addressing past traumas, or simply providing a caring, listening space. For couples, she favours the Gottman approach, grounded in research on successful relationships.
Samantha has successfully worked with clients with low libido, painful sex, menopause, erectile disorder, shame, and problematic porn usage. She also has experience working with neurodiverse clients – diagnosed and self-diagnosed – and is ND herself.
For Couples:
- General Sex and Relationship Issues: Including mismatched libidos and getting past affairs.
- Polyamory & Ethical Non-Monogamy: Assisting those in, or considering whether to, open relationships.
For Individuals:
- Pain on Penetration: Supporting clients with conditions like vaginismus and vulvodynia, and exploring interventions.
- Erectile & Ejaculation Issues: Investigating any psychological causes of erectile disorders, premature, or delayed ejaculation.
- Desire & Orgasm Issues: Helping clients explore or rediscover their sexuality, but always validating low libido or asexuality.
- Compulsive Sexual Behaviour: Addressing problematic behaviors and seeking to reduce distress and shame.
- Identity and Kink Exploration: Providing a safe space to explore sexuality or gender, as well as any kinks causing distress.
- Menopause & Sexuality: Addressing changes in sexuality due to hormonal shifts and providing support through the medical journey.
- Sexuality After Trauma: Supporting the rediscovery of sexuality post-trauma, including after abusive relationships or sexual assault.
