Rhiannon is an integrative counsellor on the Integrative Counselling and Coaching Masters course at the University of East London, and is a student member of the BACP.
Rhiannon’s therapeutic approach helps people to make sense of themselves and their experience, and work towards a way of being that feels less stressful and more authentic and at ease. She helps clients explore thoughts and feelings, develop self-understanding and compassion, identify needs, values, and goals, and collaboratively test practical, day-to-day strategies. To do this, Rhiannon draws on a range of therapeutic modalities depending on the preferences and needs of the client, including ACT, Transactional Analysis, CBT, and parts-work. Rhiannon is warm, direct, and grounded. She creates a space that feels safe and non-judgemental, but is also not afraid of gentle challenge, too.
She is drawn to supporting people through personal crisis, grief, trauma, relationship struggles, anxiety, and depression, and understands that our feelings are often complex and hard to understand.
While training to be a therapist, Rhiannon works as a qualitative researcher, listening closely to how people make sense of themselves and their lives. Rhiannon’s own life has deeply shaped her work as a therapist; growing up in the UK, she then lived and worked in East Asia for more than a decade, gaining a nuanced understanding of the ways that culture and background shape our everyday experience. She has also experienced first-hand the transformative power of personal therapy when navigating life’s challenges.
Rhiannon is a firm believer that access to therapy and mental health support should not be a privilege and is committed to supporting access to low-fee or free support for clients who are ready to embark on their therapeutic journey.
