Nina is an experienced BACP Accredited Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor with a particular interest in supporting trainee counsellors and therapists in the early stages of their counselling careers.
She understands that beginning clinical work can bring a mixture of excitement, uncertainty and self-doubt. It can take time to develop confidence in your own judgement, find your therapeutic voice and work out what kind of counsellor you want to become.
Nina sees supervision as much more than discussing a caseload. She aims to create a supportive and reflective relationship where you can talk openly about your client work, explore the things you find difficult and gradually develop greater confidence in yourself as a practitioner.
Nina does not believe there is one “right” way to be a therapist.
Her approach to supervision is collaborative and developmental. Rather than expecting supervisees to work exactly as she does, she is interested in helping you understand your own strengths, therapeutic approach, and developing identity as a counsellor.
This can be particularly valuable during training and the first few years after qualifying, when it is easy to compare yourself with more experienced therapists or worry about whether you are doing things “correctly”.
Nina provides guidance and challenge where needed while encouraging you to think for yourself, develop your clinical judgement and become increasingly confident in the way you work.
Her aim is for supervision to help you grow into the therapist you want to be, rather than into a version of your supervisor.
There will inevitably be times when client work leaves you uncertain, frustrated, emotionally affected, or wondering whether you handled something in the best way.
Nina believes good supervision needs to be a space where these conversations can happen honestly and without shame.
Her style is warm, approachable and human. She encourages supervisees to bring the things they are unsure about, not just the work they feel they have done well. Together, you can think about what may be happening for the client, what may be happening within the therapeutic relationship and what the work may be bringing up for you as the therapist.
Supervision can also provide space to explore boundaries, endings, risk and safeguarding, ethical dilemmas, difficult therapeutic relationships and situations where you may feel stuck.
Nina places strong importance on ethical practice and the BACP Ethical Framework.
Alongside supporting your development as a therapist, she sees supervision as an important part of maintaining safe, thoughtful and accountable clinical practice. This includes helping supervisees recognise the limits of their competence, think carefully about risk and safeguarding, and consider ethical issues when there may not be an immediately obvious answer.
For trainees, Nina can work alongside the requirements of your placement and training provider, helping you develop the reflective and ethical practice expected as you progress through your training.
Individual supervision provides dedicated time to explore your client work and professional development in greater depth.
Sessions can include case discussion, therapeutic relationships and process, risk and safeguarding, ethical dilemmas, boundaries, confidence, professional development and the emotional impact of the work.

£70 for qualified therapists
90-minute supervision session
£80 for students on recognised training courses

Nina offers small, closed clinical supervision groups for a maximum of four counsellors. Group supervision can be a more affordable way to access regular, high-quality clinical supervision while also benefiting from the perspectives and experiences of other therapists.
Keeping the groups to four members ensures that everyone has meaningful time to bring and explore their client work. The groups are closed rather than drop-in, allowing trust, openness and a sense of safety to develop between members over time.
Group supervision can be particularly valuable for trainee and early-career counsellors, providing opportunities to explore clinical work, risk and safeguarding, ethical dilemmas, therapeutic relationships and professional development within a supportive and professionally facilitated environment.
Group Supervision Fee:
2-hour supervision session group (max 4 in a group)
£40 for students on recognised training courses
£50 for qualified therapists
Alongside her psychotherapy and supervision work, Nina is also one of the trainers at Cherry Tree Therapy Centre in Buckhurst Hill and Henley-on-Thames. She develops and delivers workshops on a range of therapeutic and professional topics for counsellors, other practitioners and professional organisations. Training can be delivered in person or online and combines theory with practical discussion and reflection that participants can take back into their clinical work.
Her experience as both a supervisor and trainer means that supervision can also provide opportunities for learning and professional development where appropriate, while remaining focused on the individual needs and stage of development of each supervisee.
Nina is a BACP Accredited Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor. Her qualifications and additional professional training include:
Her therapeutic work is integrative and influenced by person-centred therapy, CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy, mindfulness and transformational coaching. This broad background supports her belief that supervisees should be encouraged to develop a way of working that is both ethically grounded and authentic to them.
Whether you are beginning your first placement, approaching qualification or finding your feet in the early years of private practice, Nina offers a supportive space in which you can develop your skills, confidence and identity as a therapist.
