Jo Blake
Integrative Counsellor & Coach
Jo Blake is an integrative counsellor and coach with over 30 years of experience supporting young people, parents, and professionals, particularly within education and community settings. She works with clients aged 16 and above, offering both short-term and long-term therapy tailored to individual needs, preferences, and goals. Jo works face-to-face at our Buckhurst Hill Centre and also offers online sessions.
Her work supports those navigating a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, stress, low mood, self-compassion, anger, conflict, bereavement, identity, abuse, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. Known for her calm and grounded presence, she offers a safe and respectful space where people feel genuinely heard and supported. Jo has also facilitated parenting groups as a trained Parenting Coach.
With a deep understanding of how complex and overwhelming life can feel, Jo brings empathy, curiosity, and flexibility to her work. Her integrative approach draws from a range of counselling and coaching models, allowing her to adapt her style to meet each client’s unique personality and circumstances. This makes her work highly responsive and attuned to what feels right for the person in front of her.
Clients often describe feeling safe and accepted in sessions, something she believes is essential for building trust and enabling meaningful, lasting change. Her therapeutic style is collaborative and empowering, helping people explore difficult experiences at their own pace, without judgment.
Jo holds a BAEd and a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Coaching from the University of East London. She is also a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and works in accordance with its Ethical Framework.
