Bernadette Rose is an integrative counsellor with training in psychological trauma, based at Cherry Tree Therapy Centre in Buckhurst Hill.
Her practice is warm, non judgemental and grounded in the belief that the client’s trust and sense of safety are at the heart of the work together. Her approach is calm, collaborative and tailored to each individual.
Bernadette says: ‘I believe healing happens when you feel safe, seen and understood, and I aim to create an environment where you can explore your experiences at your own pace.’
Clients often describe Bernadette as completely non-judgemental and deeply patient. She creates a safe, confidential space where people feel genuinely seen, heard, and validated – often for the first time.
Alongside integrative counselling, she also offers bespoke packages recognising that trauma is held in the body as well as the mind. These combine a counselling session with massage therapy for those who benefit from a more somatic, holistic way of working.
Mental health is now understood as inherently embodied, which is why massage therapy works so naturally alongside counselling. Massage supports psychological well-being and changes the way the body and brain communicate. It activates the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting relaxation, reducing anxiety and releasing stored tension and trauma, thus aiding emotional release. Massage is a valuable component in healing for trauma survivors.’
