Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and Amanda understands how important it is to find a counsellor you feel comfortable with. She offers a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where clients can talk openly, feel genuinely heard and begin to make sense of the challenges they are facing.
Amanda is an Integrative Counsellor who works with adults, children, young people and couples. She works from a person-centred foundation and combines a range of therapeutic approaches, allowing her to tailor each session to the individual sitting in front of her. She believes there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to therapy and adapts her work to suit each client’s unique needs, experiences and goals.
Her approach is both supportive and practical. Amanda helps clients explore the deeper roots of their difficulties while also equipping them with strategies and techniques they can use in everyday life to create meaningful, lasting change.
Amanda supports adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including:
Amanda believes that lasting change often comes from understanding not only what we are feeling, but why we feel that way. Together, you will explore the experiences, beliefs and patterns that may be influencing your current life, helping you gain greater self-awareness and a fresh perspective.
Where appropriate, Amanda incorporates practical therapeutic tools and coping strategies to help clients manage difficult emotions, build resilience and move forward with confidence.
She also has three years’ experience providing counselling through an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), supporting civil servants within a focused six-session counselling model. During this time she worked with clients experiencing both personal and work-related difficulties, including workplace stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, bereavement and life changes. This experience enables Amanda to work effectively in both short-term, solution-focused therapy and longer-term therapeutic work.
Many of our adult struggles have their roots in earlier life experiences. Amanda has completed specialist training in Inner Child work and enjoys helping clients understand how childhood experiences can continue to influence emotions, relationships and patterns of behaviour in adulthood.
Through gentle exploration, reflective exercises, journalling and other therapeutic techniques, Amanda helps clients process unresolved experiences, heal emotional wounds and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.
Her aim is to help clients make peace with their past so they can live more fully in the present.
Amanda has extensive experience supporting children and young people and is passionate about helping them build confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing from an early age.
She works with children aged 8 years and above, supporting them with:
Amanda understands that children often communicate differently from adults, so she tailors sessions to suit each young person’s age and developmental stage. Alongside talking therapy, she may incorporate emotion cards, creative activities and other age-appropriate techniques to help children understand and express how they are feeling.

Amanda also holds a Certificate in Couples Counselling and supports couples who want to strengthen their relationship, improve communication and better understand one another.
She provides a safe, balanced environment where both partners can feel heard while working together towards healthier patterns of communication and connection.
