Kevin Bracey is a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor at Cherry Tree Therapy Centre in Buckhurst Hill.
I have a passion for mental health that has allowed me to be in a position to support others. I believe that everyone should be able to have the opportunity to explore themselves and any issues they have, and by working with me I will allow you to do this. I also realise that there is still a stigma in talking about mental health and I am passionate about helping to end that stigma so people can feel they are able to talk about their issues.
Over the years, I have worked with a corporate bank to set up a mental wellbeing network for their employees which became the fastest growing network within their bank, been a panel guest at Mental health corporate forums as well as worked with the mental health charity MIND to devise workshops.
I am a Level 4 CPACB qualified therapeutic counsellor and a member of the BACP. My main approach is person-centred where the client is the expert and the relationship between myself and the client is key to achieving your aims. The underpinning principles of the person-centred approach are focused on the counsellor being honest, non-judgemental and fully accepting whilst being fully integrated into the relationship allowing you to lead and set the pace. By talking through their issues and being truly listened to I believe we all have the capacity to be the person we truly want to be.
My therapeutic sessions happen face to face but for some people, this can be difficult so I also offer online counselling.
I am committed to continuing my personal development as a qualified therapeutic counsellor. I have regular supervision and will regularly take part in workshops which enhances my knowledge.
