About Me

Gerry Hanley is a qualified humanistic Counsellor at Cherry Tree Therapy Centre in Buckhurst Hill.

Counselling is Gerry’s passion! He had completed a CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Level 4, following the completion of a CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Studies Level 3 and a CPCAB Certificate in Counselling studies 2 which he began in 2017.  He is also a registered member of the BACP – where he adheres to the BACP ethical framework for good practice.

“Throughout life, we can face many challenges and it often helps to talk to someone about our thoughts, feelings, and experiences”.

Gerry Hanley practices Person-Centred Therapy which is a non-directive humanistic approach, therefore he believes you are the expert in your own life and within you, there are vast resources for self-understanding. His job is to help you strengthen your inner resources through the therapeutic relationship.

As a humanistic counsellor, he will provide a safe non-judgmental space to help you explore the difficulties you are facing, and help you find change and your true potential with complete trust and without judgment. The underpinning principles of the Person-Centred approach are focused on the counsellor being honest, non-judgemental and fully accepting whilst being fully integrated into the relationship allowing you to lead and set the pace.

Gerrys’ therapeutic sessions happen face to face but for some people, this can be difficult so he also offers online counselling.

“Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile and considering me as your humanistic counsellor”.
