About Me

Dr Ian Cowell is a qualified Physio at Cherry Tree Therapy Centre in Buckhurst Hill.

He has over 30 years of experience as a clinician, researcher, and lecturer. He is a member of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists, a group of Chartered Physiotherapists who have reached a recognised standard of excellence in neuromuscular physiotherapy.

Ian has a particular interest in complex spinal pain disorders and completed a PhD at Imperial College London where his research focus was on the training of physiotherapists in psychologically informed practice for persistent spinal pain.

He has published several research articles on the physiotherapy management of low back pain and presented his work at national and international conferences.
