How Counselling Can help

Individual Counselling & Psychotherapy

People seek individual counselling and psychotherapy for many reasons. Some people want to address issues in their relationship or family unit. Other people want a space that is just for them which they can use to address ongoing issues or process previous events.

Within the individual counselling space, the client is the focus of the session.

We understand that taking the first step toward individual counselling may be challenging. Our team is here to make the process as smooth as possible.

Please contact us for a no-obligation chat about your needs.

Approaches:

We have different counsellors at the Centre who are trained in different styles of counselling. We know this can be confusing but we are happy to guide you on which approach would be right for you.

Session Information

Individual counselling
Once you have contacted the Centre we will take some general information from you.  If you do not have a preference for a specific counsellor we will help you choose the right person. We will gather information such as:

  • Your previous experience of counselling, and which style of counselling you have enjoyed previously or would like to engage in now.
  • The issue you would like to discuss and any financial limitations you may have that could prevent you accessing private counselling.
  • You will be asked about your preferences for gender and the type of counsellor you would like to work with.
  • Finally, we will ask about your availability to attend sessions.

Once we have this information we will match you to a counsellor who will contact you to make arrangements for your first session.

If at any time, you feel that we did not choose the right counsellor for you, let us know and we can chat through options with you.

Our aim is to offer you a service that gives you the best possible outcome.
