Recovery starts with the first conversation
Addiction can take many forms, from substances like alcohol, drugs, or prescription medication, to behaviours such as gambling, gaming, pornography and sex, or compulsive use of technology. Whatever you’re facing, you don’t have to go through it alone. Addiction counselling provides a safe, confidential space where you can explore what’s driving the dependency, understand how it’s affecting your life and relationships, and begin working towards lasting change.
At Cherry Tree Therapy Centre, our therapists approach addiction with empathy and without judgement. We recognise that addiction often serves as a coping mechanism, and we’re here to support you in understanding those underlying needs while helping you develop healthier, more sustainable ways of coping. Whether you're in crisis, in recovery, or somewhere in between, we’ll work with you to rebuild trust in yourself, reconnect with your values, and move forward with clarity and strength.
No. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We support people at all stages — whether you’re thinking about change, trying to cut down, or already in recovery. The work is guided by your goals, at your pace.
Yes. Everything you share in therapy is treated with the utmost confidentiality. The only exception is if there’s a risk of serious harm to yourself or someone else — and even then, we’ll talk with you about any next steps wherever possible.
Absolutely. We work with a wide range of addictive or compulsive behaviours — including gambling, sex and porn use, gaming, spending, and more. Whatever you're struggling with, we’ll explore it without judgement and support you in understanding what’s driving it.
